Where and when did the Patch get its start?
The legend of “the Patch” began at the 1982 Labatt Brier in Brandon, Manitoba. Starting out as a casual gathering of fans relaxing over a beverage and a snack – with local entertainers contributing to the experience – it has grown each year to become a major attraction of Season of Champions events across Canada.
Why is it called Keith’s Patch?
Originally, it was the “Brier Patch”. The Alexander Keith’s Brewing Company assumed sponsorship of what has become the biggest party in Canadian curling. It was an ideal combination – a company with a passion for its product and fans with a passion for their favourite sport.
